If you listen to an aplacetotalk podcast you know that I respect atheists primarily because they have the courage to ask questions that your normal “religious or Christian” crowd won’t.  In the introduction of our podcast my buddy Ben says just that, and while he said – I edited into the introduction that plays at the beginning of every podcast because I really love and agree with that line.  Speaking of quotes, I miss-credited a quote the other day right here on this blog and I’m writing today to apologize to two self-proclaimed atheists.

I accidentally credited Courtney Sajben, with a quote by Madalyn Murray O’Hair. I am blogging today to apologize to both the late O’Hair and Courtney.  I certainly didn’t mean to miss-quote either of you, I am sorry.  (By the way, if you look back at this blog entry for my mistake, it isn’t there anymore because I corrected it today.)

By the way the quote was, “An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church. An atheist believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said. An atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, war eliminated.”

One more thing, if you think that quote is anything different than what Jesus would live and teach I believe you’ve misunderstood Jesus because I believe Jesus believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church.  I also believe that Jesus believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said and He (Jesus) strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He, Jesus, also wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, and war eliminated.  The impressive thing with Jesus is… I believe He will get what He wants while still allowing and working through the free will of man.  It is a long slow journey because we are stubborn, but I believe Jesus and His love will win!
