and good is general – the fact is he or she isn’t necessarily good at everything – they’re just better than you at everything. I have friends like that… I’m not sure I understand the whole psychology of those relationships, but what I do know is this… blank… I’m going blank… maybe I don’t know anything about this.

I know (sometimes) I want to be the best at something.

I know (sometimes) I want to be good at various things, and I want others to notice I am good.

I wonder what it takes to be totally satisfied with who you are?

For me… it certainly isn’t succeeding at various things… I can have a success and as soon as I do I want another success.

So if it isn’t succeeding at something, and it certainly isn’t failing — what does it take to be satisfied with yourself?

Some may say you can be satisfied with yourself if you do your best and try your hardest… what do you think?

I think Bull Crap! I can try my hardest and fail and be extremely unhappy with myself, and on the other hand I can phone it in (or barely try) and succeed and be pretty satisfied with myself. What about you, can you think of a time when you didn’t put forward your best and you still won? Can you think of a time when you really tried your best and still failed?

In religion we were (or I was) taught to reflect all praise. In other words if I gave a good speech or a soloist sang a great song, we knew to give God the glory somehow. Do you think it is wrong to allow someone to appreciate your talent and praise you for your hard work? Would it be okay to simply say thank you I worked hard to be good at what I do – instead of always saying “Don’t praise me – it’s God that deserves the glory.”

I tempted to say – there is a balance and we shouldn’t always take the praise but sometimes we can simply thank someone for their praise… but I’m not sure about always saying “balance”, what do you think?

Here’s a video of one of those guys that’s always BETTER! If I take some friends to the waterfall and jump off into the water – he does a back-flip off the same spot! LOL… funny I wrote this before Derek, John, Noah, and I went to the falls… but it just hit me that this video fit well in this blog! ENJOY the back-flip video.

By the way Derek – that back-flip was awesome… now what will you do with a little praise? lol
